Kevin C. Kelly, D.D.S.
Kevin Kelly attended Northwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University before entering the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry.  He received his D.D.S. degree in 1979.  At that time he moved back to his hometown and became the third generation of dentists to practice in Traverse City.  He practiced with his father for two years before having his brother join them.

Dr. Kevin is one of a handful of Clinical instructors for the Luxar Dental Laser and has received the honor of Mastership Status from the Academy of Laser Dentistry.  This is the highest level of achievement possible.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Past President of the Resort District Dental Society, Past Consultant of the Scientific Sessions of the Michigan Dental Association, member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Tennis Association member and Past Board Member to the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

He and his wife Nancy have three children, Brandon, Ryan, and Lance.



 
 

Patrick C. Kelly, D.D.S.*
Patrick Kelly graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1980.  He had completed the majority of his undergraduate education at Michigan State University.  As a member of the top ten graduates in his dental class, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental fraternity.  He spent an additional year of training as a general practice resident through the University of Washington in Seattle.  This program provided advanced study in all aspects of general dentistry, oral surgery, emergency and trauma care.

After completion of his residency, he joined his father and brother in practice in his hometown of Traverse City, which he continues today. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, Sean and Macare. Dr. Macare joined Traverse Dental Associates in 2008.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Resort District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Laser dentistry.

David W. Swan, D.D.S.
David Swan is a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan where he received both his undergraduate and dental degrees.  After finishing near the top of his class in 1984, Dr. Swan spent an additional year of advanced training at Sinai Hospital of Detroit.  Over the years, Dr. Swan has invested heavily in continuing dental education, accumulating over 2,000 hours of training after dental school.

Dr. Swan has pursued managerial and behavioral training through The Center for Professional Development in Arizona, implant training through the Misch International Implant Institute in Pennsylvania, and trained in advanced restorative therapy through the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Florida.  Dr. Swan was the founder and first president of the

Northern Michigan Implant Study Club and is a member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor dental fraternity.

Dr. Swan’s professional accomplishments include Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and  Fellow of both the Misch International  Implant Institute and the Academy of General Dentistry.  He has also achieved the prestigious designation of Pankey Scholar from the L.D. Pankey Institute where he serves as a mentor for other dentists seeking to advance their skills and their practices.

Dr. Swan established a private practice in Chelsea, Michigan after his residency at Sinai before joining Traverse Dental Associates, P.C. in 1994.  Dr. Swan provides intravenous sedation and most surgical services for the practice.  He especially enjoys providing dental implants and advanced restorative and esthetic dentistry for his patients.  “I believe it is vital to take the time to know my patients and perform a thorough evaluation and diagnosis. This allows them to choose the level of care that best suits their goals, circumstances and temperament. Optimal care isn’t one size fits all, and technical mastery, while important, is only a part of treating the needs of the whole person.”



 
 

Macare E. Lumbrezer, D.D.S.
Macare Lumbrezer is a 2008 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She graduated Cum Laude from Hope College in 2003, earning a double bachelors degree in both Chemistry and Spanish. During dental school, Macare was a member of the Jonathon B. Taft volunteer society, the American Student Dental Association, and the Christian Dental Association.  She also gained special recognition for her high scores on the National Board of Dental Exams and the Bunting Award for Excellence in Periodontics.  Currently, she is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association, Resort District Dental Society, and the local Pankey Study Club.  She regularly donates her time to those in need through the Traverse Health Clinic,and was part of the first Heaven D.E.N.T. weekend which provided dentures for many people who could not afford them.  Dr. Macare is a Pankey trained dentist and has invested much time into continued education at the Pankey Institute which focuses on patient centered dentistry.  Pankey trained dentists have the reputation of being well trained in positive behavorial influence, occlusion, functional aesthetic dentistry, and complex diagnosis and treatment planning.

Dr. Macare is the fourth generation of dentists in the Kelly family, all of whom graduated from University of Michigan.  She finds it especially rewarding caring for patients that have been seen by her father and grandfather and is committed to carrying on their tradition of excellence in dentistry.  In her spare time, Dr. Macare enjoys cooking with her husband, taking walks downtown, chasing her kids around the house, and distance running.  She is happy to spend much of the summertime on the water with friends and family.  She and her husband, Dustin, and their two children, Quinn and Blaise, live in Traverse City.

 

   

Kevin T. Fitzpatrick, D.D.S., M.S., ABGD
Dr. Kevin Fitzpatrick is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  He attended Saginaw Valley State University for his undergraduate studies majoring in both Biology and English.  Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Fitzpatrick joined the U.S. Navy where he practiced dentistry all over the world including Kuwait, Somalia, and Djibouti.  While stationed in Maryland, he completed a two year residency in comprehensive dentistry from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School and earned a master’s degree in oral biology from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  After serving at the NATO base in Keflavik, Iceland, Dr. Fitzpatrick resigned his commission from the Navy to work in private practice in San Diego, California.  Just prior to joining Traverse Dental Associates in 2012, he served as the Chief Dentist at San Diego State University.

Dr. Fitzpatrick’s ongoing commitment to excellence is evident by his board certification by the American Board of General Dentistry and the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry.  Dr. Fitzpatrick embraces a proactive and preventative dental health care philosophy which integrates scientific principles of evidence-based dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, and dental care of the highest quality.  He is dedicated to attending continuing education and utilizing the latest advancements in dentistry.

He is married to Lisa (Broering) Fitzpatrick and they have a son, Kearan.  He fills his spare time distance running, chasing Kearan around the house, hiking, mountain biking, downhill skiing, playing soccer, playing drums and percussion, and cooking.
